Ghost Mannequin Effect: The physical mannequin or model is removed from the image using precision clipping paths or image masking, leaving the clothing item floating in 3D space.

Neck Joint Assembly: Photographers take two separate photos—one of the front of the garment on a mannequin, and one showing the inner back collar or neck tag. Editors merge these images to fill in the hollow area behind the front collar.

3D Volume & Symmetry: Shadows, highlights, and alignment adjustments are added to maintain the illusion of depth, symmetry, and natural fabric drape.

Finishing Touches: The process includes color correction, wrinkle smoothing, dust removal, and adding natural drop shadows for a polished presentation.

Editing Workflow

Selection & Isolation: Using the Pen Tool, editors create precise vector clipping paths around the outer edge of the garment and isolate it from the background.

Mannequin Removal: The visible neck, neckband, or body of the mannequin is cut out, leaving a hollow cutout at the top.

Inner Joint Integration: The inner back shot (containing the inner collar, brand label, and size tag) is aligned, scaled, and warped to fit seamlessly into the hollow neck area.

Blending & Shading: Soft brush tools and layer masks blend the joint seam smoothly. Inner neck shadows are added underneath the collar edges to create realistic depth.

Retouching & Color Match: Fabric creases are refined, lighting is balanced between the front and inner parts, and color tone is matched across all visible areas.
